This fabric was woven by the woman who raised the cotton naturally, ginned and spun, then anatto-dyed the weft threads, and wove the fabric. The cotton was treated by soaking it two separate times overnight in rice water to strengthen the cotton and keep the strands more cohesive. The pattern is traditional for this village, and they are famous for its style. Comes with a photo of the producer of this fabric holding it in her arms.
